Jesse and Mini hats

When I heard that Jesse was about to become a father, I knew I wanted to do something. I had yarn left over from when I frogged Ryan's Ralphie Hat and made it shorter, so I started a baby beanie in the yarn (which was self striping because the yarn was tied together when I frogged it). The colors actually reminded me of Jesse, so it was cool. When I finished, I scraped around and found leftover balls of the same color and made one for Jesse.

CO stitches (mini) and stitches (Jesse)

Work in 2 x 2 rib.

Work for 5 inches/ 7 inches, bind off

Dragon witch scarf

I joined the Dragonwitch club that sends bi-monthly patterns and handspun yarn. It is from the Knitwitch website. When the first order arrived, it was a lovely light grey sockweight yarn along with a string of dark grey glass beads and a pattern for an interesting looking scarf.

When I began the pattern, I had a really hard time figuring out what it was supposed to be. When I finally got the trellis idea down, I liked it so much I made a baby blanket and plan to make a scarf using the pattern vertically rather than horizontally.

The second part of the scarf I simply didn't like. I ripped it out and made up my own pattern which incorporated the beads. When I ran out of beads, I stopped. The result is lovely, and headed directly to the gift basket.

Charlene's Purple Socks

Hmmm, so I am a little behind. The "Charlene's purple socks" were scheduled as an August birthday present for guess who? The first one I sent to her to check for size, too short. So I ripped it out and now 5 months later... ta-da

The first one, the one I ripped out, didn't have such bad pooling. I don't mind the pooling but there it is. Guess we will have to live with it.

Bad me

So I decided that I wanted to make the xmas heart scarf in time to wear it for Valentine's Day, even though it isn't on the to do list or the ever-growing in progress list. Bad me.

I started it and and it took a day and a half to do the first heart. I was beginning to not only feel like a bad list person, but a bad knitter. Then the next day I just charged through two hearts. I figured out that when it isn't working, I just need to stop and work on another project.

Anyway, I started the scarf on Sunday night and finished it on Wednesday night. Being snowed in helps.

Yarn: Red Heart Soft worsted
Needles: Size 9 circulars
